New compression means running the game should not be an issue. I am once again very sorry for this problem.
There have also been several scaling done to some of the bosses, fixes in the mechanics, and the Giygas fight has been expanded on. I hope you enjoy.
I am aware that there is a glitch with Ascentia’s Trial where the game will not extract. I am working on a solution. Please be patient.
It’s dark. Can’t see anything in that game until you’re already dead. Not so much scary, as I don’t even get to glimpse the monster that’s supposed to be hunting me.
Just saw this post going through Containment Breach related tags. Just had to say: what are you talking about? You HAVE to glimpse the monster looking at you, glimpsing it is the only thing stopping it from killing you!
My laptop screen looks kind of washed out and seems to have weird contrast and color issues. When I tried to play this game, it was pitch dark and impossible to see anything at all, so I was wandering through the game in pitch darkness.
Connecting my computer to a proper monitor fixed this issue.

Haven’t played it yet. Jesus, the game only came out a week or so ago. I rarely buy games on launch day, particularly online games. I’d have to give it a few weeks before the initial surge of players dies down to a point where the servers aren’t clogged and crashing like most online games. I’d also have to give it some time so I can see reviews, gameplay videos, and a Let’s Play so I can decide if the game is worth my time and money.

I have the first completed version of Ascentia’s Trial, a boss rush game developed in RPG Maker VX.
This game pits you against 10 powerful bosses, 9 of which are well known in popular culture. You control Ascentia Kortai, a Val’Kyr taking her final trials to prove her worth as a warrior.
This game is a finished version, but is still incomplete in many regards. You can proceed from the start of the game to the end credits with little to no issue, other than dying, but many of the asthetics and mechanics are not present.
There are several bosses that operate differently from how they normally would in the subject matter they come from. A key example is Giygas, who can be harmed by Ascentia’s attacks, and has no pray function. I am hoping to resolve this in a future release.
Be patient everyone, this is the first time I’ve seen a game to completion, and I am proud of the job I’ve done. You can download the game here:

You will need the RPG Maker VX RTP to run this game. If you do not already have it installed, it is included in the game itself.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Extract the game files by double clicking the Ascentia’s Trial.exe and selecting your installation directory.
2. Install the RTP (this step may be skipped depending on the nature of your machine.)
3. Play the game
4. Have fun… and that is not optional.
